Song: Kuma Echa

Contribution to: National Breast Cancer Coalition

Kumah Echah embodies the spirit of the kibbutz. Its composer, Shalom Postolski (1898-1949) was one of the founders of Kibbutz Ein Harod, and wrote many songs that reflect the life and the optimism of the young pioneers who contributed so much in the pre-State era. This particular song was written towards the end of the 1920’s, and was especially popularized through the choreography of Rivkah Sturman, a fellow member of Kibbutz Ein Harod, and one of Israel’s most important folk dance figures. The lyrics of this song were penned by the prolific Yitzchak Shenhar (1902-1957).

National Breast Cancer Coalition

It empowers and trains advocates to be effective in every aspect of the fight to end breast cancer. NBCCF gives women the tools to make their own informed decisions and take a leadership role with legislative, scientific and clinical decision makers. NBCCF also helps guide the public through the maze of information on breast cancer.
